This is John's resort, seen from the beach. In Costa Rica, not everyone can build on
the beach. Costa rica is very democratic -- public access to the beach is to be given to
everyone. Unlike in the US, private individuals can't own beach front properties. Other
resorts in the area have to keep their distance, but John was grandfathered into this
location. John has built this beautiful structure almost single-handedly. When we were
there he was putting the finishing touches on the pool. It's adjacent to the multi-level
domed structures you see pictured here. One dome houses the restaurant and bar --
beautiful arches give a view of the ocean and forest that surrounds the resort.
These are the Cabins. As seen from the roof of the main dome. The cabins are very clean,
comfortable and airy, with balcony and view of the ocean and wildlife (sometimes).
Sandy and warm...
The Beaches of Nosara. |
"Pardon me for being so enthusiastic about Beaches of Nosara, but after 23 years
of visiting Costa Rica and writing about it (I'm the author of the guidebook
CHOOSE COSTA RICA), I believe this is the best place in the country for a quiet,
authentic Tico experience. For discos and noise, go to Tamarindo or Playas de
Coco..."
Just where is Nosara, anyway?
