I tested Apple's Siri's voice recognition system on the iPad (Nov. 2013). I laid the two units side by side and spoke in a normal voice and at a normal pace. Next, about two meters six feet form a pair of stereo speakers, Siri listened to me speak, listened as to a live news broadcast from NPR radio and documentary program narrations from TV. The speed at which results were returned was roughly the same between these two iPad models. Usually the iPad Air finished just a fraction of a second before the iPad 3, but not always.
The brand new iPad Air had a slight blue tinge compared to the two-year old iPad 3; the iPad Air's LCD display was uneven, slightly darker near the top left oft the screen. It's difficult to see here. |
