"The Take-home lesson" -
If they don't know
the secret handshake,
they are definitely the devil.

Of that you can be sure!

   Secret Mormon Handshakes

  Know  ye  them!

We Mormons can never be sure quite of people.  Who is OK?  Who is not?
Or worse
!

That's why Joseph Smith, our Seer and Revelator, has revealed to us of the Secret Handshakes

This secret (formerly only sacred) way of clasping another's hands is so we can surely know who the other person is... friend or foe? Good or evil?

If you meet someone who you can't be sure of who he / she is: are they  the devil in disguise?  Are they OK?
Are they a real person or are they an angel?
Here is where our special handshake comes in handily:

Above -  An excerpt from the Mormon Temple ceremonies -- where we limber up our hands  to  practice the secret handshakes.

It's called "The Sure Sign Of The Nail".    (Not to be confused with "The Sign Of The Nail" handshake.)
 It's used like this:

    Here is THE Logic -

1   Suppose you meet someone and you think he may be the devil.  Shake their  hand the normal way.

If they feel like noting -- like air, you know immediately that this person is the devil or a spiritual being!.  Act
      accordingly
!

3  If they feel solid, like you or I,  they may be probably OK,  but we don't  know for sure, do we?
Try the secret handshake with this person   If they reciprocate -- if they know the secret handshake -- they are
      an angel
If they don't know the secret handshake, they are surely a real person, because they feel solid

4  If they refuse to shake, you can be certain you are dealing with a "Just man made perfect", *  a male, who knows the secret handshake, but he nevertheless is not solid, and thus can't shake your hand.

Instructions given by Joseph Smith, Nauvoo, Illinois, February 9, 1843.

Secret Masonic Handshakes

That's all there is to this particular secret handshake.

It's not very complex, really.

Angels know the secret handshake, real persons know it, and spirits don't know it and they won't shake.

The Devil feels transparent.  By this everyone can be distinguished from one another -- this is how you can tell for sure who someone is.

This handshake is also used to get you into heaven (celestial kingdom).  Mormons as well as non-mormons must know this to gain eternal glory.  If you forget, don't worry, an angel will be at the gate to prompt you thru the handshaking ceremony.  We know this is true, because the scripture tell us so.

Is it secret or sacred?

Instructions given by Joseph Smith:

          "Doctrine & Covenants" Section 129:
1  There are two kinds of beings in heaven, namely: Angels, who are resurrected personages, having bodies of flesh and bones;
2  For instance, Jesus said: Handle me and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
3  Secondly: the spirits of just men made perfect, they who are not resurrected, but inherit the same glory.
When a messenger comes saying he has a message from God (sic), offer him your hand and request him to shake hands with you.
5  If he be an angel he will do so, and you will feel his hand.
If he be the spirit of a just man made perfect he will come in his glory; for that is the only way he can appear;
7  Ask him to shake hands with you, but he will not move, because it is contrary to the order of heaven for a just man to deceive; but he will still deliver his message.
8  If it be the devil as an angel of light, when you ask him to shake hands he will offer you his hand, and you will not feel anything; you may therefore detect him.
9  These are three grand keys whereby you may know whether any administration is from God.

Mormonism, or the LDS Church, is one of the world’s fastest growing religions. But unless you were raised a Mormon, you probably don’t have a clear picture of this great religion, which was unearthed by Joseph Smith, a nearly illiterate farm ...

Often Non-Muslims have no idea that Muslims worship the same God and that Islam preaches compassion as well as  hatred, charity, humility, and brotherhood as well as disdain for infidels. Mohammad founded Islam in 610 CE after the angel Gabriel allegedly...

A Just Man Made Perfect...  Devil, Spirit, Friend or Foe?

When and how are the spirits of just man made perfect? "The spirits of just men made perfect" refers to men made perfect by having their sins washed away by the blood of Christ. We have had our sins washed away and have come to have fellowship with others who have been made perfect by having their sins washed away. Adam Clarke in his Commentary on Hebrews 12:23, "In several parts of this epistle teleiov, the just man, signifies one who has a full knowledge of the Christian system, who is justified and saved by Christ Jesus; and the teteleiwnemoi are the adult Christians, who are opposed to the nhpioi or babes in knowledge and grace...The spirits of the just men made perfect, or the righteous perfect, are the full grown Christians; those who are justified by the blood and sanctified by the Spirit of Christ. Being come to such, implies that spiritual union which the disciples of Christ have with each other, and which they possess how far so ever separate; for they are all joined in one spirit, #Eph 2:18; they are in the unity of the spirit, #Eph 4:3, 4; and of one soul, #Ac 4:32. This is a unity which was never possessed even by the Jews themselves in their best state; it is peculiar to real Christianity: (See Heb 12:29)."

There is no way we could have come to the "spirits" of those in Heaven? If they were in Heaven, they would be beyond our reach unto we are in Heaven with them. We would not have come to them.

Smith meets ... ??"And to the spirits of the righteous made perfect" [New Revised Standard Version]. If disembodied spirits were in Heaven and in any way had fellowship or communication with us it would prove Spiritualism, which is forbidden by God. Most all who uses this to prove the soul is now immortal do not believe we have any communication with the dead if they are in Heaven, Hell, the grave, or any other place, therefore, we have not come unto them.

WHEN THIS IS USED TO PROVE THE SPIRIT IS ALIVE AND THEREFORE, IMMORTAL AFTER DEATH FOR THE "SOUL" OF THOSE WHO ARE DEAD ARE NOW MADE PERFECT, IT MAKES THE JUDGMENT AND RESURRECTION BE 100% TOTALLY USELESS.

Hamilton says spirit (pneuma) refers to God 288 times, to evil spirit 30 times, and 40 times pneuma refers to the human spirit (Truth Commentaries, 1 Peter, Page 370). W. E. Vine lists a number of ways pneuma refers to man, to "the human spirit," they must therefore be part of the 40 times. (f) The sentient element in man, that by which he perceives, reflects, feels, desire...(g) purpose aim...(i) character...(j) moral qualities and activities: bad... stupor... timidity... good... liberty... meekness... faith... quietness." As these all refer to the human spirit, they must be a part of the 40 times, but not a one in his list refers to a part of a person that lives after the death of the person. Hamilton says on page 364 that the Soul may mean life, persons, the heart, the mind, or the spirit. From what both W. E. Vine and Hamilton say, some of the 40 times means the mind. etc. Therefore, the times pneuma can refer to an internal immortal part of a person would be less than 40 times. But, he did not say how many or list them, which is the very thing he needed to prove his point. Just saying that a part of less than 40 times means a person has an immortal spirit does not get the job done. How often, one, five or more? Where are they? Hence, the GREAT CONFUSION: Soul or spirit or both?  Try the Mormon handshake, for Christ's sake.
